Why I am not Slytherin
One of the qualities usually associated with Slytherin is their cunningness. The definition of cunning is the achievement of something by deceit. This is not me, this has never been me and I know for a fact it never will be. In fact, being cunning is something I completely view negatively and I heavily dislike how this is somewhat associated with me.

Whilst some would say I can be ambitious I would completely disagree with them, given that I don’t have that strong desire to achieve something, which is what actually defines ambition. Whilst I have achievements on the server, from reaching Y6 to wanting to apparate, I would definitely, and I’m sure friends of mine, would definitely say that it’s not exactly a strong desire, more like an end goal.

The quality of resourcefulness is most definitely not me whatsoever. People who know me will know that I take the time to get over difficulties, as I know from experience that quick decisions can lead to much difficulty further down the line. I prefer to think about a decision and think about the possibilities rather than coming up with a “quick and clever way” to get over something, because sometimes the decision might not even be viewed as quick and clever".

Why I am a Ravenclaw
Intelligence is the ability to acquire knowledge and skills. This is something that I take really seriously given that I’m about to enter university to study law. I’ve always had a thing for knowledge, I basically “feed” upon it. I can learn anything from cookery, to mechanical skills to things more academic like legal and political knowledge. I’ve got a bunch of qualifications in real life and they’re all graded pretty high, I brand myself and my friends brand me with this “intelligence” tag, I’m always the person friends and family go to when it comes to learning something.

Wit is the capacity for inventive thought and quick understanding. Once again this is something that I use to define myself. Given that I knew nothing about Herbology three days ago and that I can now recite half of the first year curriculum for my lessons, I think it’s pretty obvious that it is right to define myself with this quality. I’m a fast learner, I’ve had to learn over 200 cases and statutes in law, a week before the exam. I’ve had to study Roman texts for classics a week before the exam too.

I’m not going to ramble on about wisdom. In fact, I do have the quality of experience, knowledge, and good judgement. I’ve got high levels of knowledge all across the academic spectrum and I’m always able to make a good judgement on what to do and when to do it. Take my revision for example: I knew my law exam was on the 16th of June so I knew I needed to learn everything at least by the 16th of May to ensure I had time to go over weaker areas.

Creativity and originality are two traits which most people would define me by. I always come up with fantastic ideas for lecture ideas for future lessons in subjects such as DADA, Herbology and Arithmancy. I currently assist with the writing of Arithmancy and it’s great because I can be creative and come up with lots of different ideas. It’s something I love to do and I’m definitely one for the arts, but in terms of literature, as I would definitely consider literature as being an art. I don’t “copy/paste” teach, I tend to expand slightly on areas, or make the lectures more enjoyable as copy/paste can become boring from the teaching aspect and you can become distracted, which is why I pride myself with my originality.

I shall not ramble on about the rest of the Slytherin and Ravenclaw qualities and why Slytherin is most definitely not me and why Ravenclaw is 100% who I am. Every Hogwarts quiz I take, even the official Pottermore ones, I have been sorted into Ravenclaw. I’ve always viewed myself as a Ravenclaw and when I got sorted into Slytherin in June 2015 I just couldn’t accept it. I don’t like talking in the Slytherin house chat unless one of my closest friends is online, I find it difficult to socialise with the other Slytherins and I’m generally friends with those in Ravenclaw, given that I find we’re all very similar in terms of personality.

I’ve taken the 16 Personality Types quiz twice in my life, once in January and once the other day. I was INTP (The Logician) in January and was, In June, ENTJ (The Commander). I would assign the “Analysts” type to Ravenclaw, which I definitely fall under in terms of personality. My personality has never fit with Slytherin and I am confident that it never will be. I belong in Ravenclaw.

I’ve wanted to move to Ravenclaw ever since I got sorted into Slytherin, but back then house changes couldn’t occur. I’ve put off making this application for quite some time but I thought it’s worth a shot. Hopefully to you, the 4 heads of houses, that you see my personality and traits as being one of Ravenclaw.
